Cold Storage Buildings

Insulated steel buildings engineered to hold temperature. Mountain State Construction builds the structural shell and insulated envelope for coolers, freezers, and refrigerated warehouses, and coordinates the refrigeration through specialty partners.

What We Build

Built to hold temperature.

Cold storage lives and dies on its envelope. The building has to seal tight, resist condensation, and carry the added loads that refrigerated construction brings. We build the steel structure and the insulated envelope, sourced from established manufacturers and erected by our own crews, and we coordinate the refrigeration systems through specialty partners so the shell and the cooling are designed to work together.

01

Refrigerated Warehouses

Large insulated buildings for cold warehousing and distribution, with the clear height and floor area throughput needs.

02

Freezer Buildings

Sub-freezing envelopes built to hold deep cold, with the insulation and vapor control freezer temperatures demand.

03

Coolers & Produce Storage

Above-freezing cold rooms for produce, beverages, and perishables, sized to your inventory and turnover.

04

Cold Distribution & Docks

Loading and staging space with insulated dock areas, planned so cold product moves without breaking the chain.

05

Agricultural Cold Storage

On-site produce and crop cooling for farm and ranch operations, built into the working footprint.

06

Mixed-Temperature Buildings

Ambient, cooler, and freezer zones under one roof, with envelopes engineered for each temperature.

Why Mountain State

Shell and envelope, built right.

Insulated Building Envelope

Insulated metal panel walls and roof and a sealed envelope engineered to hold temperature and resist condensation.

Site-Engineered Loads

Every building is sized for your jurisdiction's wind speed, snow load, and seismic category, plus the loads refrigerated construction adds.

Multi-Manufacturer Sourcing

We build with components from many established manufacturers, matching the system to the project rather than a single product line.

Full-Service Erection

Unload, anchor-bolt verification, steel erection, and panel install handled by our crews, with one point of contact at MSC.

Refrigeration Coordinated

We build the shell and thermal envelope and coordinate the refrigeration systems through specialty partners, so the building and the cooling work together.

Backed by Our Warranty

A documented structural and weatherproofing warranty stands behind the finished building.

Questions

Cold storage FAQ.

Do you build the refrigeration system too?

We build the structural shell and the insulated envelope, and we coordinate the refrigeration through specialty partners, so the building and the cooling are designed to work together.

What keeps the temperature in?

An insulated metal panel envelope, vapor control, and a sealed building designed to hold its setpoint and resist condensation.

Can a freezer and a cooler share one building?

Yes. We can engineer separate envelopes for different temperature zones under one roof, with ambient space alongside if you need it.

What extra loads does cold construction add?

Refrigerated buildings carry added weight from panels, roof systems, and equipment, and we account for those alongside your site's wind, snow, and seismic loads.
